Cloudy....chance of rain

Some new fridge magnets I have been making. Clouds! I was inspired by the raindrop fabric that I have used before in other rain inspired projects, it's still  one of my favourites at the moment. Spots are always a favourite! These were to brighten up my fridge but now I'm selling them also!

In The Age...

My work was featured in The Age on Saturday in some advertising for the Greville Village Market that was on, on Sunday.  A bit exciting to open the paper and see your stuff in there! (a friend actually spotted it by chance , texted me and told me it was in there!!) I wasn't at that actual market but will be back on Sunday December 1st for my last market there. Hopefully the weather is lovely then, but each market so far has had pretty good weather.... very important for an outdoor market!!

Market Day

First market at the Greville village market completed! It was great weather, really sunny, although a little windy! We had to hold onto the marquees at times so they didn't take off! The market was beautifully set up with coloured marquees and signage for each stall. There were 24 stalls with varied products and items. All very crafty ! My stall went really well so I'm pretty happy! I'll be back there on the 15th Sept and 1st and 3rd Sundays in Oct for my next three stalls, so hopefully we get good weather and lots of people also for those ones!

Birds on the fridge

I've been making a few new items for the Greville Village Market that's coming up this Sunday in Prahran. These are some new little bird magnets I have been making in progress. The weather looks like it's going to be good for Sunday here in Melbourne, so fingers crossed it stays that way as you never know in Melbourne and it's an outdoor market.
I've got lots of my cushions and softies ready to go and a few new pieces as well. It will be good to see what goes down well at the market!

Rainy

Its been a bit rainy and grey here in Melbourne over the last weeks so here is one of my favourite fabrics, with raindrops, in my latest patchwork cushion..... Melbourne inspired!

Hand dyed

Another patchwork and quilted cushion. This one has the last scrap of a pumpkin orange fabric I hand dyed back in uni.... many years ago! I was mad for dyeing the fabric, mixing up the dye according to the formula in the recipe book, weighing out powder amounts. You never knew if it would come out the exact colour you chose but it was fun waiting and finding out. I made metres in various colours but only have tiny scraps left now. Not sure where it all went but I'm sure there's a lot of stuff made with that hand dyed fabric! I still love the orange, not too bright and a tiny bit patchy

How many cushions are too many?

It's been a while but I'm back making again! School holidays and a big month and a half of birthdays kept me very busy! I've been making some new patchwork and quilted cushions, this fabric was very cute as it was, so my son got one of these! Sweet but not too girly! He has quite a few cushions on his bed now!

Can't let them go!

These are the other pair of cushions I have made using the 2wenty thr3e range of fabric by Eric and Julie Comstock. I love these ones so much they are staying on my couch. Time for some new cushions anyway, it's been at least 6 months since I had some new ones!

Umbrella Prints Trimmings Competition 2013

Last year I entered the Umbrella Prints Trimmings competition for the first time.(here!) It's what got me started with my blog, facebook and pinterest and then led on to my Made it and Etsy stores!  I had meant to get online for the previous two years...but had just been sewing and creating. The gorgeous Umbrella prints fabric trimmings got me inspired to create and enter. There were such beautiful things made out of the smallest trimmings of fabric in the previous competitions. The fabrics have such lovely patterns and are very inspiring!
This year I have created two rainy themed zip purses. One featuring a free machine embroidered umbrella and raindrops design, the other a cloud and raindrops. Loving those raindrops!

23 cushions

My latest cushion using my newest most favourite fabric line!!!!....2wenty Thr3e by Eric and Julie Comstock of Cosmo Cricket for Moda. I bought a jelly roll as meterage wasn't available yet and I couldn't wait! I got a little bit of the whole fabric line this way with so many to choose from. There are some very beautiful fabrics with collage numbers, retro tickets, cameras and patterns. This cushion has been quilted on the top . I also made another set using these fabrics but they are going to stay on my couch!! These ones are available in my made it shop

Bunnies for the boys

Amongst all the other bunnies I made , I also made these for my boys for Easter. I was going to give them some of my other ones but they were all gone! These ones are a bit more boyish! The orange one was made with a free down load pattern by Sleepy King who makes very cute softies. I previously made a green version and then made a bigger one to match!
 Have a lovely Easter.

Boy Sleepy bird and chocolate bribery

My latest boy Sleepy bird using the rather boy oriented fabric I recently purchased! My model was rewarded/bribed by a piece of chocolate! I had made another attempt to get some model poses from my 4 year old with no reward involved which resulted in not one photo! As soon as chocolate was mentioned this time he was great for all of the photos!

Not the usual fabric

Just when I thought I'd gone all pink and girly again I got this fabric! I always love herringbone fabric and the blue stuff here looks a bit like that. Now what to make.....

Raindrops

My new little zip purses. Perfect for all those little things that go in your bag... phone, makeup, kids pencils and paper. This raindrop fabric is my newest favourite fabric!  It's from Anthology fabric and the line is called Raining Rainbows. These purses were made for a showcase I'm in in March with the title/theme of Autumn Leaves. So being from Melbourne I have gone with a rainy raindrops Autumn theme  for my pieces! My other pieces, a cushion and a bird soft toy, use different raindrops fabric.... I'm very into raindrops at the moment!
I've got lots of ideas on different fabric combinations for these purses so there will be more! They are available in my Etsy shop and Made it shop.
