Twin teddies

These two little Grey Sleepy teddies were made for a customer who requested 2 of the original sleepy teddy but they were for a set of twin boys so she wanted similar teddies but not exactly the same. I had a similar grey and white spot fabric and added yellow spotty fabric on the back instead of the yellow stripes.  She liked the idea calling it "same same, yet different". Very cute!

Relaxing in comfort

A new cushion in my made it store. Perfect for relaxing over Christmas! It is made from various cotton fabrics and denim making it very robust for kids rooms! I'm busy making more cushions so there will be more to choose from soon! Today will be 38-40 degrees so a perfect day to stay inside and sew!

Very Sleepy

Yesterday the made it site featured this Grey Sleepy Teddy of mine in their "Monday new finds" newsletter. It is emailed to subscribers and as a post on their facebook site. So that was very exciting, always good to have more advertising and promotion. Then I started getting lots of orders for this Sleepy Teddy. I spent the day sewing and still have a few to go..... very busy but happy to be getting orders!

More fabric

Another new fabric.... I don't often buy fabric with actual images on it and definitely not girly ones but this was cute. I usually buy spots and stripes. I could see a little pinafore dress in this for a little girl or some cushions for a girls' room. Too bad I don't have girls! I'll have to give away or sell what I make.

Pouring wax a nice surprise!

I spent a lovely morning with a friend making soy wax candles yesterday. It was a surprise Christmas present and I didn't know what we were doing until we arrived. It was fairly straight forward, after we melted the wax we got to choose our colours and scents for the candles and ended up with quite a few candles each. It was at Gasworks Park in Port Melbourne which also happened to have a farmers market on. So while we waited for our candles to set we had a coffee and a browse at the farmers market, making a few delicious purchases along the way. What a great morning!

Stripes in Yellow

I haven't bought any fabric in weeks but needed to get ribbon, interfacing and the like for various projects. This makes it very hard to not look at fabric since it's in the same shop! Anyway I ended up with just a few fabrics. This lovely yellow stripe was one of them. I choose fabric in various ways... either specific need, I love it so I buy it with no purpose or I see a fabric and an idea forms from the fabric. This yellow stripe was like that as I imagined it as a top for a rabbit softie. Images just pop into my head of things I could make with it... then I have to buy it!

He's a little rough but a bit of experimentation could fix that, if not, another softie for the kids.

Baubles and birds

Christmas is fast approaching and I've been busy making quite a few orders of these fabric Christmas tree ornaments. People are obviously statrting to get ready..... I usually love decorating the tree but in the last few years it has gone up very close to Christmas so little hands don't remove the decorations. I'll have to wait again this year perhaps until the week before....

Chosen by a cat

This Paisley green Elephant softie was chosen by Axl the Cat ( a staff member on made it!) in the staff picks for this week. It gets featured all week. You can see the staff picks here. (refresh your browser if you can't see the elephant!) There are also picks by other sellers on made it as well , which is always nice to see other people's favourite items.

Getting ready for Christmas

Here are the latest additions to be added to the Dewberry Workshop Made it store.  A set of red fabric Christmas ornaments for hanging on the tree or using as gift tags. Reds and pinks are usually my favourite colour selections  but I have done a lot of branching out into other colours having  two boys.  It's very nice to go back to my favourites! Check them out here on made it.
